Journey, In viaggio col dolore

33. MY JOURNEY WITH PAIN. Bye bye New York.

In August 2010, I returned to New York with a friend who wanted a consult in the acupuncture center where I used to go when I was in town. Of course, I got one too.
I saw my New York love again, even though we broke up.

Partly because it was August - and in New York, there is much less than during the year - partly because all my reference places were either closed forever or for work, it wasn't as good as the other times. I had a good time, but it wasn't as exhilarating and energetic as ever. All that hustle and bustle sounded distant to me. I lived deep down, and I interpreted many things as needs that were no longer necessary.

On my last morning in Manhattan, I went with my New York ex-love to greet John Lennon at the 'Imagine' mosaic placed in Central Park's Strawberry Fields, right across from his home, the Dakota Building.
Then, we went to a French cafe where they made excellent croissants for a hearty breakfast. On the way, we held hands in silence. It had never happened before. It seemed to me that we were 5, 6 years old and that our child souls were keeping company, whispering words of love. We couldn't talk. What could we have told each other? Things for granted said 1,000 times.

My right knee was crying, it yes, it could afford it! I still don't understand why it swelled so fast over those last two days and at the very end. Perhaps it would say to me: 'Stay!', but all around, it seemed that everything was over, and my heart was already Sufis.

BILLIE HOLIDAY 'I' LL BE SEEING YOU 'IN THE VIDEO ON THE SIDE

I'll be seeing you
In all the old familiar places
That this heart of mine embraces
All day and through

In that small cafe
The park across the way
The children's carousel
The chestnut trees, the wishing well

I'll be seeing you
In every lovely summer's day
In everything that's light and gay
I'll always think of you that way

I'll find you in the morning sun
And when the night is new
I'll be looking at the moon
But I'll be seeing you

I'll be seeing you
In every lovely summer's day
In everything that's light and gay
I'll always think of you that way

I'll find you in the morning sun
And when the night is new
I'll be looking at the moon
But I'll be seeing you.
